While you are visiting Idaho be sure to plan a stay in the amazing little town of Coeur d'Alene. Over the last two decades Coeur d'Alene has been steadily growing. Duane Hagadone has invested much of his own money into putting this little town on the map in a big way. Mr. Hagadone used over 60 million dollars building a resote and conference center in a depressed timber and mining town with a population of only 25000.
He build an 18 story hotel in a place where others like the Marriott, the Hilton or the Sheraton would not even consider. The hotel sits on the shore of Coeur d'Alene lake and proudly boast one of the finest marinas anywhere. Go here to see photos. Be sure to click on the virtual tour button on the next page.
Mr. Hagadone also laid out another 4.4 million dollars to purchase a run down and closed saw mill where he built a class A golf course. Don felt the town need some sizzle and he incorporated it into a floating golf green on his course. The floating green can be seen in the background in the photo above.
