Where to Go in Idaho

The great state of Idaho has a lot to offer to the US traveler. In my travels through the state I found myself amazed at the sight of a River of water actually coming right out of the side of sheer cliff.

I was informed that it was an underground river and that there were several different places where this action takes place.

We stopped at one of the sites and actually tasted the water. It was crystal clear and pure and tasted as fresh as you would expect of a countryside spring. It was more pure than the water in my own tap at home.

As we continued our travels through Idaho we were again amazed at something we found right in the middle of a desert area. With temperatures soaring from 95 degrees to well over a hundred degrees we came across a cave.

It looked like nothing more than a hole in the ground but it was really much more. It was the famed IDAHO ICE CAVES. It was a real treat to leave the outside heat and enter the cave to discover layers of ICE within.

The desert breeze (what little there was) found its way into the entrance of the cave and turned the moisture in the air into layers of frozen wonder.

The ICE was more than 12 feet thick in some places and as you went deeper into the cave you could see how the flow of air created patterns forms in the walls. If you get into Idaho do yourself a favor and take a look.

Vacation time is here again. It is time to see what the western states have to offer.

Pack up the wife, pack up the kids, pack up the family pet, pack up anything you can think of and hit the road.

There is no better place to travel than right here in the good old USA.
